DESCRIPTION

The Tech of Acting for Video Games gives students a behind the scenes look at the development process while learning to incorporate that knowledge into auditions and working sessions for video games.

By having an understanding of the "what" and "why" behind how decisions are made by developers, you will have a clearer understanding of "how" performance is influenced. This webinar covers "The 3 Ps of Acting for Video Games" - "Purpose, Position and Pace".

P#1: PURPOSE

• Learn the terminology commonly used in games to describe a characters "purpose" or archetype

• Learn the terminology associated with a character's actions in-game and how they relate to each archetype

• Incorporate terminology so that they can more accurately predict how lines should be delivered

P#2: POSITION

• Have a clear understanding of the audio environment that exists in games that require normalization

• Understanding how/where your voice fits into games that contain normalization

• How to improve auditions for these types of games so you can get the attention of developers and casting

P#3: PACE

• Learn situations and technical aspects of when PACE is important

• How to recognize when PACE is crucial to dialogue

• How to incorporate PACE into performances without losing your character

This course will be held on two consecutive Thursdays, October 15 and October 22 from 7-10 PM. You will receive a link for October 22nd's class after purchase.
