BFA required, MFA preferred.
Successful candidates will demonstrate a high level of professional engagement with current trends in contemporary art and emerging technologies; have a robust exhibition record; provide evidence of successful teaching beyond graduate school; proficiency in Adobe and other software/hardware specific to the area of specialization; the ability to move fluidly between digital and analog modes, and dedication to fundamentals of art making.
The candidate will assist in developing the vision and curriculum in experimental animation and video, including, but not limited to narrative video, experimental animation, and the foundation 4D time-based media course.
Major Responsibilities/Duties:
- Teach 6 studio courses annually, or equivalent thereof, in experimental animation, experimental video, and 4D time-based media, visualization, and other seminar, visual arts foundation, and general education classes as needed and that are specific to area of expertise
- Manage the Digital Media studio
- Advise students
- Assist with recruiting and retention of students and otherwise promoting the department
- Active participation in campus and regional communities
- Professionally active and engaged as an artist
- Other duties in accordance with the Snow College Workload Document
