Job Description We are looking for online game moderators who are committed to providing safe online experiences for kids, who will help referee any behavior that violates Animal Jam’s conduct rules. Moderators will review chat interactions and submissions from players and will take appropriate action. This is a contract position and work is done from home. Tasks include, but are not limited to: Reviewing newly registered account usernames to ensure they are not inappropriate Monitoring in-game chat and disciplining players who may be violating rules of conduct Identifying language tactics that attempt to bypass chat filters and make suggestions for improvement Attend meetings and virtual hangouts (where needed) Qualifications Fluent in English, including writing, reading and speaking, especially slang and colloquialisms MUST have previous experience in online moderation and/or community management Have the ability to read and process large amounts of information quickly to make informed decisions Detail oriented, with an eye for spotting issues and reading between the lines Ability to work on your own, staying on task, and without much direction Enjoy working on tasks in an “assembly line” style Must be able to learn new concepts and workflows quickly Internet savvy, with a basic proficiency in MS Office programs and Google apps. Possess excellent spoken and written communication skills Strong moral character and a team player Must have “thick skin” and be comfortable with reviewing and discussing concerning content Ability to multi task and adapt to change Available to work during high volume times (holidays, weekends, evenings, etc.) Additional Desired Skills & Qualifications (not required) Work experience in Social Work or counseling Experience working with children or teens (off or online) College degree or coursework in communication, media, game development, sociology/social work or related courses Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
